Please join Ethnography Lab’s Senior Researcher Dr. Andrew Gilbert on Friday, January 31, 2020. This is a workshop designed for anyone who will be conducting ethnographic research and is interested in the possibility of communicating that research in forms other than text, i.e. photo, video, graphic and sequential arts, audio, etc. The focus will be on how to prepare for research—conceptually, methodologically, pragmatically—so as to anticipate, gather, and produce the kinds of ethnographic data amenable to non-text-based forms of communication. It will be most useful to participants who have concrete research projects in mind. Participants will come away from the workshop with concrete ideas about how—and why—to fold a multimodal awareness into their research practice.
